New Mexico: $1,000 stimulus check coming in 6 days.

New Mexico to Issue Tax Rebates Worth Up to $1,000

In an exciting development, New Mexico is set to issue tax rebates worth up to $1,000 to eligible taxpayers in just six days!

All residents of the state who have filed their 2021 taxes are eligible for this fantastic opportunity. Single filers will receive a generous $500, while married couples filing jointly will be rewarded with an impressive $1,000.

If you’ve chosen the option, you can even have your funds delivered via direct deposit, which will be sent out on June 20. For others, fear not! Paper checks will be printed between June 20 and 29, ensuring that everyone receives their well-deserved rebates.

Governor Lujan Grisham’s Personal Priority

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) is thrilled to announce these rebates. In a statement, she expressed her personal commitment to this cause, saying, “Prices for basic necessities continue to be high across the nation. Our state today is in a fantastic financial position, and it’s important to me that New Mexico’s families are sharing in that success.”

If you’ve recently moved to a different address since filing your 2021 tax return, don’t worry! You can easily update your address using the Taxpayer Access Point self-service portal on New Mexico’s Taxation and Revenue Department website or submit a change of address form to the department.

For those who have changed their banking information since submitting their 2021 tax returns, rest assured that you will still receive your rebates through a check in the mail.

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity! If you haven’t filed your 2021 returns yet, you still have time. The deadline is May 31, 2024.
