Tax rebate payments up to $1,000 to be sent next month as stimulus check update.

Get Ready for a Tax Rebate Payment of Up to $1,000 in New Mexico

Exciting news for New Mexico residents! June is just around the corner, and with it comes a tax rebate payment of up to $1,000. The state’s Taxation and Revenue Department will be sending out these payments to taxpayers who have filed their 2021 taxes.

The value of the rebates will either be $500 for single filers or $1,000 for married taxpayers filing jointly, heads of household, and surviving spouses. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s office has confirmed this in a statement.

Sharing in the Success

Governor Grisham said, “Prices for basic necessities continue to be high across the nation. Our state today is in a fantastic financial position, and it’s important to me that New Mexico’s families are sharing in that success.”

If you have moved to a different address since filing your 2021 tax returns, you can update your address using the Taxpayer Access Point self-service portal on the state’s Taxation and Revenue Department website. Alternatively, you can submit a change of address form to the department.

If you have changed your banking information after submitting your 2021 tax return, you will receive your rebate by mail.

However, if you have already received a refund by direct deposit on your 2021 returns, you will receive this rebate by direct deposit as well. Those who did not get their 2021 returns by direct deposit will receive a check in the mail. The direct deposits will be issued first, and the paper checks will be mailed afterward.

Don’t Miss Out

If you haven’t filed your 2021 returns yet, don’t worry. You have until May 31, 2024, to do so. Additional information regarding this payment can be found online on the state’s Taxation and Revenue website.

So, get ready to receive your tax rebate payment and enjoy the financial relief it brings!
