Wyoming abortion ban that went into effect over weekend temporarily blocked by judge

A judge in Teton County, Wyoming , temporarily halted a state law banning nearly all abortions on Wednesday. The law had gone into effect last weekend.

According to numerous stories, District Judge Melissa Owens issued a restraining order on the regulations on Sunday.

A Fractional” RIGHT TO ABORTION” ENSHRINED IN Think CONSTITUTION IS RULED BY OKLAHOMA SUPREME COURT.

” A legal right cannot be abolished by the say.” It’s unclear whether as qualifies as medical treatment. The Associated Press reported that Owens said the court must now make a decision on that.

Pro-abortion rights organizations filed the lawsuit and argued that the state’s constitution protects pregnancy. They claimed that pregnancy is medical care.

Gov. signed into law the Life is a Human Right Act. Last month, Mark Gordon( R-WY) was suspended pending the outcome of the legal dispute. Abortion was prohibited by law, with the exception of incidents of incest, sexual assault, or situations where the family’s life was in danger.

When the law was passed last year, Gordon expressed concern that a lawsuit may prevent it from being enforced. He claimed that the better course of action would be to hold a vote to amend the state law.

” I am aware of the legislature’s efforts to enhance the pro-life legal framework in Wyoming, and I would like to some clarify some of these legal issues with the many legislative findings from HEA 0088.” To suddenly resolve the abortion debate in Wyoming, I think this problem needs to be resolved as soon as possible, and that is best accomplished through a popular vote, Gordon said.

The legal problem is the most recent in a string of legal actions taken across the country to oppose abortion bans. In its ruling in the Dobbs vanadium. Jackson Women’s Health Organization way in June, the Supreme Court overruled Roe. Wade.
