Biden and the Climate Cult: Beholden to an Uncaring China

The Problem with Biden’s Climate Policy

Despite opposition from the Democratic-controlled Senate, President Joe Biden remains committed to his climate policy and its ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Biden recently signed an executive order removing tariffs on Chinese solar products imported from other Asian countries, a move that was met with disapproval from both sides of the aisle. Even swing-state Democrats from Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin, as well as both senators from Pennsylvania, voted to reinstate those tariffs.

The Dark Side of Climate Charity

Biden’s climate policy has also been criticized for its ties to Hollywood and left-wing foundations that quietly bankroll extremist protest groups. But Biden seems unconcerned. He and the Democratic Party’s climate cult have hitched their wagon to China, regardless of the country’s predatory trade practices and use of slave labor. All that matters is that the green energy industry can get its Chinese goods for cheap so that we can pretend to fight climate change even as increased Chinese coal use undermines whatever emissions reductions the rest of the world achieves.

The Danger of Placating China

Biden’s urge to placate China on this issue should hang over every comment Biden and his team make about climate change. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm praised China’s “progress” on climate change earlier this year, and Biden’s climate envoy, John Kerry, has said that human rights concerns with the CCP should take a backseat to climate cooperation, even though China is actively engaged in slavery and genocide.

Meanwhile, China has not made any “progress” other than worthless promises. Even those are few and far between. In fact, over the last few years, China has embraced coal, heavily increasing its coal capacity while the rest of the world cuts back on it.

The Cost of Biden’s Climate Policy

Biden’s buddy-buddy relationship with China on climate change gets us some (probably slave-made) solar panels and an increase in carbon emissions. Now that’s what you call a bargain. Not only that, but Biden has also promised to funnel billions in taxpayer dollars to the United Nations for its “Green Climate Fund” and for “climate reparations,” money that China would be eligible for because the United Nations still incredibly considers it a “developing country.” China, of course, has refused to commit to paying into the climate reparations plan, despite being the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitter.

The Climate Cult’s Faustian Bargain

The climate cult that has taken hold of the Democratic Party, including every part of the Biden administration, has sold its soul to China in exchange for some solar panels and a few promises that the Chinese will never keep. Biden is beholden to those hysterical climate activists, and he continues to placate China at every turn on their behalf. It’s time for Biden to wake up and realize that his climate policy is doing more harm than good.
