US Navy drag queen confident despite critics, says he doesn’t care.

Navy Drag Queen Responds to Critics

Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley, also known as “Harpy Daniels,” has been hired as a “digital ambassador” for the United States Navy. However, some critics have slammed the Navy for using a drag queen to recruit new members. Kelley recently responded to these critics in a TikTok video, showing a tweet from podcaster Graham Allen, who claimed that “our enemies LAUGH at us” because of the Navy’s decision.

Kelley Claps Back

Kelley didn’t hold back in response to Allen’s tweet. “You want to tear down service members and use my content without a tag so you don’t look homophobic or transphobic,” Kelley wrote on Instagram. “You only want to support the military when it benefits you and doesn’t involve queer people.” Kelley went on to defend the military’s diversity and adaptability, stating that “haters only hate when we’re winning.”

Former Navy Seal Weighs In

Not everyone is on board with the Navy’s decision to use a drag queen as a recruiter. Former Navy Seal Robert O’Neill, who is credited with firing the shot that killed Osama bin Laden, expressed his frustration on Twitter. “The U.S. Navy is now using an enlisted sailor Drag Queen as a recruiter. I’m done,” he tweeted. “China is going to destroy us. YOU GOT THIS NAVY. I can’t believe I fought for this bulls***.”

Kelley’s Experience

Kelley, who identifies as “non-binary,” became one of five Navy “Digital Ambassadors” in a pilot recruitment program. In a November Instagram post, Kelley expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share their drag experience with fellow sailors. “Thank you to the Navy for giving me this opportunity!” Kelley wrote. “Hooyah, and let’s go Slay!”

In Conclusion

While the Navy’s decision to use a drag queen as a recruiter has sparked controversy, Kelley remains unapologetic. As a service member, a queen, and an open queer person, Kelley is determined to thrive and represent the LGBTQ+ community.
