Hunter Biden’s Plea Deal Will Not Stop House Probe into Alleged Bribery Schemes

Hunter Biden’s recent plea deal on federal tax and gun charges will not deter the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability from continuing its investigation into the alleged international bribery schemes involving him and his father, President Joe Biden. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) made it clear that the charges against Hunter Biden and the lenient plea deal will not hinder their pursuit of uncovering the truth.

“Let’s be clear: the Department of Justice’s charges against President Biden’s son Hunter reveals a two-tiered system of justice,” Comer stated. “Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling, and possibly bribery. These charges against Hunter Biden and sweetheart plea deal have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation. We will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed.”

According to The Washington Post, Hunter Biden will plead guilty to failing to pay roughly $1.2 million in taxes in 2017 and 2018 and admit to a gun charge. However, federal prosecutors have negotiated a Pretrial Diversion Agreement that would allow Biden to avoid pleading guilty to the gun charge.

“I know Hunter believes it is important to take responsibility for these mistakes he made during a period of turmoil and addiction in his life,” said one of Biden’s attorneys, Chris Clark. “He looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving forward.” However, Comer remains determined to uncover the truth behind the Biden family’s alleged corruption.

Comer has outlined his plans for the House Oversight Committee’s investigation, which includes depositions of key figures involved in the Biden family’s influence-peddling schemes. Despite facing obstacles from the FBI, the Department of Justice, Democrats in Congress, and the mainstream media, Comer remains steadfast in his pursuit of justice.

“We’re going to start bringing in key figures in the Biden family influence-peddling schemes for depositions, and I think we’re on the right track,” Comer stated. “Even though we’re having to fight the FBI, fight the DOJ, fight the Democrats in Congress, and fight the mainstream media, we’ve done as much as we could do with the obstacles we’ve had to overcome. No one thought we would get bank records or access to the Treasury, Cabinet’s suspicious activity reports, but we would not take ‘no’ for an answer. We kept fighting and we prevailed.”
