Former NJ Gov. Chris Christie Joins 2024 Presidential Race

“I’m in it to win it,” says Christie as he announces his bid for the White House.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the 2024 presidential race. He joins the likes of former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the growing field of Republican candidates.

Christie’s decision to run comes as no surprise, as he recently filled out the paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday. However, what is surprising is that he is positioning himself as an alternative to Trump, whom he has criticized many times since the former president left the White House in 2021.

Christie’s Chances

Despite his experience as a former governor, Christie is currently polling at only 1% of support among likely Republican primary voters. In contrast, Trump and DeSantis, the two front-runners of the Republican primary race, have 56% support and 39% support, respectively.

However, Christie remains optimistic and determined to win the race. “I’m in it to win it,” he declared during his announcement.
