Virginia Democratic senators tell Biden to stay out of FBI headquarters relocation fight

President Obama has revived discussions about the relocation of the FBI Headquarters, currently located in downtown Washington. Joe Biden after stagnating under former President Donald Trump. Youngkin and Sens. Tim Kaine (D.VA) and Mark Warner, (D.VA) expressed their desire that the headquarters be moved to their state. Gov. Wes Moore (D) and fellow Maryland legislators would like it to move to Prince George’s County.

On Thursday, the Virginia senators suggested that Biden should not make his preference public.

“We don’t think asking somebody to put their thumb on the scale makes any sense here. Usually, where I come from, a thumb on the scale is a bad thing. We want to avoid thumbs on the scale rather than encourage and promote thumbs on scales,” Kaine Following a Thursday meeting with General Services Administration, a news conference was held.

Warner supported his senator by saying that Biden was weighing in “would be a huge mistake to have political thumbs on the scale.”
