Trump criticizes RFK Jr. as a Democratic “plant,” criticizes his energy record in New York, and prefers Biden over him

Former President Donald Trump launched a sharp critique against Robert F. Kennedy Jr., labeling⁤ him as a⁤ Democratic “plant” aimed at aiding President Joe Biden’s re-election. Trump ‌accused Kennedy of holding extreme left views, ‍including anti-gun and pro-open border stances.‌ Trump also ⁣highlighted financial ⁢support for Kennedy’s ‌campaign from ⁢running mate Nicole Shanahan, whom he criticized as more liberal ⁤than Kennedy.

Former President Donald Trump hit Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with his biggest attack yet, condemning his record and suggesting President Joe Biden may be preferable.

In a three-part post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Kennedy was a “plant” put in place to take protest votes away from Trump in November.

Former President Donald Trump and Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“RFK Jr. is a Democrat ‘Plant,’ a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected,” he said. “A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him. Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet.”

After saying that Kennedy’s “Radicalized Family” wouldn’t allow him to be Republican, Trump highlighted the finances of the campaign, largely from running mate Nicole Shanahan. The San Francisco lawyer possesses a significant amount of wealth, which helped the campaign, but is further to the left than Kennedy.

“His Chief “Funder” is the V.P. Candidate that nobody ever heard of, except her ex-husband, who’s been stripped of a big chunk of cash,” Trump wrote. “She puts herself down as a businesswoman, or maybe a doctor, and actually, I guess you could say that she’s right. Her business was doing surgery on her husband’s wallet! She’s more Liberal than Junior’ by far, not a serious person, and only a Pot of Cash to help get her No Chance Candidate on the Ballot.”

He then turned his ire to Kennedy’s environmental stance, blaming him for negative economic effects in New York. The former president said Kennedy convinced the state’s governor to “make Environmental moves that were outright NASTY.”

Trump’s condemnation also hit Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), whom he had largely previously refrained from outright criticizing due to their warm relationship during his administration.

“Upstate New York was not allowed to drill or frack as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and others ripped off New York Energy. Because of this, prices have skyrocketed all over that part of the Country, but especially Upstate New York and New England,” he wrote. “Their Energy Costs are the highest in the U.S., with the exception of California, run by Gavin Newscum, the Worst Governor in the State’s History.”

Trump then leveled his biggest possible criticism — that he would prefer Biden over Kennedy.

“I’d even take Biden over Junior’, because our Country would last a year or two longer prior to collapse – But it would be dead either way,” he wrote. “His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy. Let the Democrats have RFK Jr. They deserve him!”

The campaigns of both Biden and Trump have gone after Kennedy, accusing him of being a spoiler candidate. Analysts aren’t entirely sure as to whether he would take more votes away from Trump or Biden, as his eclectic platform and Kennedy name give different appeals to both.

Kennedy isn’t alone in his third-party run — left-wing academic Cornell West and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are also running in 2024, with their main appeal more toward Biden’s progressive base.
