President Donald trump said Wednesday that he’s likely to attend next week’s NBA finals game involving the new York Knicks. He noted that James dolan, who owns the Knicks and Madison Square Garden, invited him. Trump praised the team’s players and said he’ll be going to one of the games if his schedule allows.

“They really, they have some great players,” Trump said to reporters during a White House Cabinet meeting. “I think I’ll be going to one of the games. Yeah, I was invited by numerous people and [Dolan], and I think I’ll be going.”
This year marks the first time in 27 years that the Knicks have advanced to the NBA Finals. The New York-based team will face the Western Conference finals winner, where the Oklahoma City Thunder lead the San Antonio Spurs 3-2 in a best-of-seven series.
“Boy, what a team,” Trump said of the Knicks. “They win all their games,” adding that “the Knicks have really, they’ve really suffered for years.
The Knicks’ last NBA Finals appearance was in 1999, when the team lost to San Antonio. Their last championship was in 1973 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
