Trump says he’d win California if ‘Jesus Christ’ counted the votes
In remarks too reporters on Wednesday, President Donald Trump claimed he would have won California in 2024 if “Jesus Christ had come down” and counted the votes, attributing the result to heavy GOP reliance on Hispanic support and to what he called a “rigged” election system. He made the comments while responding to Spencer Pratt’s bid for mayor of Los Angeles, saying california would be difficult for candidates due to mail-in ballots and election practices he described as dishonest. The president also reiterated his broader criticism of mail-in voting, including earlier claims about Maryland voting patterns and calls for a DOJ investigation after a Maryland elections error sent thousands of voters the wrong party ballots in the June 23 primary.

Trump made the comments when asked about Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor of Los Angeles, California.

“I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character, I don’t know him,” said Trump. “I heard he’s a big MAGA person. He’s doing well.”
Trump added that Pratt could face difficulty in California because “you have a rigged vote out there, that’s the problem.”
“You have all the mail-in ballots, everything else,” said Trump. “Very hard to win, because the elections are very dishonest. If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California, because I do great with Hispanics. But it’s a rigged vote.”
Trump has repeatedly blasted mail-in balloting, especially in blue states. Earlier in the week, the president told reporters that Maryland may not even be majority Democrat, but voted that way because of mail-in voting.

“I was told that it’s automatically a Democrat state, and I don’t believe that,” Trump told reporters on Monday. “I did really well there, and I don’t believe it.”
Trump made the comments when imploring the Department of Justice to investigate Maryland’s mail-in ballot system after a mistake by the state board of elections meant thousands of voters were sent the wrong party ballot for the state’s primary election on June 23.
