Former President Donald Trump said Thursday he is confident that former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will be a member of his administration if he wins the election, following Haley’s confirmation she will vote for him in November.

“Well, I think she’s gonna be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts,” Trump told News 12 New York at his rally in the Bronx.

Haley, who served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under Trump, announced on Wednesday she “will be voting for” Trump over President Joe Biden.

“Biden has been a catastrophe,” Haley said at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C. “So, I will be voting for Trump.”

The remarks were part of Haley’s first public outing since conceding the 2024 GOP presidential primary to Trump.

“I appreciated what she said,” Trump said. “You know, we had a nasty campaign. It was pretty nasty, but she’s a very capable person.”

“I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form, absolutely,” he added.

Despite endorsing Trump, Haley admitted she does not view Trump as the perfect candidate, citing problems, including U.S. relations with allies and border security.

“I stand by what I said in my suspension speech: Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they’re just going to be with him,” Haley said. “And I genuinely hope he does that.”
