There isn’t a ‘MAGA Civil War’: Joe Concha

Joe Concha, a Washington Examiner columnist, pushed back against claims that there is a “civil war” within the MAGA movement. Appearing on Fox Business’s *Evening Edit*, he argued that President Donald Trump is largely carrying out the policies he campaigned on, so the broader MAGA base hasn’t truly been betrayed-though some high-profile former supporters and conservative commentators have turned critical.

Concha also addressed the ongoing debate over Trump’s handling of the Iran conflict, saying that despite criticism, Trump’s actions align with what he promised. He added that the midterm elections are still uncertain, predicting a close contest where control could go either way-roughly a 50-50 split for republicans.

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha disagreed with critics who say there is a “civil war” in the MAGA movement, arguing President Donald Trump is following through on issues he campaigned on.

“We keep hearing about this MAGA civil war, and oh boy, all these people are very, very upset with the president, right now,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Evening Edit Thursday. “Well, as Harry Enten on CNN of all places explains, no, that’s not really the case.”

Concha’s comments come as former MAGA allies, including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and Candace Owens, turn on the president.

Trump called out his former allies in a scorching Truth Social post last month, saying the conservative commentators have “low IQs.”

“They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too! Look at their past, look at their record,” Trump wrote. “They don’t have what it takes, and they never did! They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some ‘free’ and cheap publicity.”

Despite well-known figures turning against the president, Concha argued that it is not the reality for the broader MAGA movement.

One of the main criticisms the president has faced from some within the Republican Party is the Iran war as the conflict enters its third month.

But Concha said Trump didn’t “betray” the MAGA base.

“So in the end, people saying Trump betrayed them, well, no, not really,” Concha said. “Because he is doing everything that he said he would do.”

Concha said the midterm elections could go either way for Republicans, as political pundits continue to offer predictions that Democrats could win back the House and Senate.

“At this point, the midterms are up for grabs,” he said. “I think it’s 50-50.”
