The Alaska Department of Revenue Sends Out Permanent Fund Dividend Checks to Eligible Residents
The Alaska Department of Revenue is taking action to ensure that eligible residents receive their long-awaited Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) checks. This Thursday, another batch of Alaskans who have yet to receive their dividend checks will finally get their payments.
Who is Eligible?
The recipients of this round of payments are Alaskans who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of February 7th and have not received their PFD checks from 2023 or earlier.
To qualify for the PFD program, individuals must have the intention of remaining a resident of Alaska indefinitely and must not have a felony conviction, among other requirements.
What is the Permanent Fund Dividend?
The Permanent Fund Dividend is a program that distributes payments to Alaskans based on the state’s annual mineral revenues. This year, the 2023 PFD check is valued at $1,312. The distribution of payments began in October 2023.
Adam Crum, the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Revenue, expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their dedicated work in administering the program and processing applications. He emphasized that the 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year of Alaskans receiving their share of the state’s natural resource wealth.
Applying for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend
