Starbucks reportedly angers woke employees with bold ‘Pride’ month decision.

The Controversy Surrounding Starbucks and LGBT Decorations

The massive coffee chain Starbucks has found itself at the center of a heated debate regarding its stance on LGBT issues. While conservatives have long criticized the company for its pro-LGBT stance, a new accusation has emerged from Starbucks Workers United, a group aiming to unionize Starbucks employees.

In a recent Twitter thread, Starbucks Workers United claimed that the company had removed “Pride decorations in stores across the United States” during Pride Month.

Starbucks, however, quickly denied these allegations. According to NBC News, a Starbucks representative stated, “We unwaveringly support the LGBTQIA2+ community. There has been no change to any policy on this matter and we continue to encourage our store leaders to celebrate with their communities including for U.S. Pride month in June.”

Despite Starbucks’ denial, Starbucks Workers United provided a list of examples to support their claim that the company is distancing itself from LGBT material.

Starbucks Workers United suggested that Starbucks may be following in the footsteps of Target, which faced backlash for removing pride merchandise due to anti-LGBTQ+ pressure. The group claimed that Starbucks is taking down pride decorations that have become an annual tradition in stores.

While it may seem unlikely that Starbucks would take an anti-LGBT stance, recent controversies involving other companies, such as Bud Light and Target, have shown the potential consequences of engaging in LGBT activism. Both companies faced significant backlash and damage to their brands.

As the culture wars continue to rage in America, it remains to be seen how Starbucks will navigate this controversy and maintain its reputation as a socially conscious brand.
