Rodeo 250 attraction announced for Great American State Fair
Freedom 250 has announced a series of events celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, including a rodeo on Washington, D.C.’s National Mall.The rodeo aims to showcase the history and traditions that shaped the American frontier and will be part of the Great American State Fair, running from June 25 to July 10, 2026. Produced by Cervi Rodeo Company, the event features performances highlighting Spanish vaquero traditions, cattle drives, Wild West acts, trick riding, Roman riding, and more-all free to the public. The celebration emphasizes the enduring American values of grit, determination, and self-reliance symbolized by the cowboy. Additional festivities include a high school “Patriot Games” competition and a UFC fight at the White House, which President Trump praised as a notable and exciting event. The overall series of celebrations aims to honor the country’s history and heritage during its semiquincentennial.
Freedom 250 announced details on Sunday about the rodeo it is holding on Washington, D.C.’s National Mall.
The rodeo is an effort to “tell the story of the people and traditions that helped shape the American frontier and the nation,” according to organizers. It will be held daily as part of the Great American State Fair, which is being led by Freedom 250, the organization President Donald Trump spearheaded to celebrate the United States’s 250th anniversary of independence. The “evolution of the American cowboy” rodeo will be free, featuring everything from Spanish vaquero traditions, cattle drives, Wild West performances, and charros to trick riding, Roman riding, trick roping, and precision riding demonstrations.

The event will be produced by Cervi Rodeo Company, one of the most respected names in professional rodeo. Shows will run throughout the Great American State Fair, from June 25 through July 10, 2026. The rodeo will run Sunday through Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., with a special July 4 performance at 3 p.m. Advanced registration is encouraged.
