After a ‘brain worm’ disclosure, RFK Jr. pledges to unveil his health records

Robert ⁢F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, has agreed ⁢to reveal ⁣his medical records‌ following revelations about his health. The New York Times reported that Kennedy admitted to having ⁣a brain infection by a parasitic worm in 2010, as well as experiencing mercury poisoning that led to cognitive issues such‌ as memory loss. In ⁣an interview, he affirmed his readiness to ⁤disclose his health ⁢records, just as previous presidents have done. ⁣Kennedy also dismissed speculations about being a ⁤’spoiler’ in the 2024 elections, asserting that he⁤ has the⁤ capacity ⁣to outperform former President Donald Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will disclose his medical records, if elected president, according to a new interview.

Kennedy, an independent presidential candidate, was asked to make the commitment after the New York Times reported earlier this month that he admitted during a 2012 deposition that a parasitic worm “ate a portion” of his brain in 2010 and that he experienced mercury poisoning and “cognitive problems,” including memory loss, around the same time.

“President [Joe] Biden obviously released his medical records. When Donald Trump was president, he released his as well,” Brian Tyler Cohen, a YouTuber and host of the No Lie podcast, told Kennedy. “Would you release your medical records to give the American public a full look at any cognitive problems?”

“Yeah, sure I will,” Kennedy said. “I’m happy to give my medical records to the same extent that the other candidates did.”

During the interview, Kennedy contended that he is not a spoiler in the 2024 election because he could beat former President Donald Trump and that Biden cannot. He also downplayed speculation he is a spoiler because he and Trump share a donor, Timothy Mellon, chairman and owner of Pan Am Systems, in addition to the grandson of the late Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon, himself a banker, industrialist, and philanthropist.

“If he’s giving $25 million to Trump and to you, and this is a Trump-aligned donor and he’s your biggest donor to two super PACs right now, do you have any relationship with this person?” Cohen asked.

“I met Tim Mellon twice,” Kennedy said.

“There’s no other inclination as to why he’s donating?”
Cohen responded.

“I welcome money from everybody,” Kennedy replied.

The Kennedy campaign previously dismissed the deposition, conducted during the former environmental attorney’s divorce from his second wife Mary Richardson Kennedy.

“The issue was resolved more than 10 years ago, and he is in robust physical and mental health. Questioning Mr. Kennedy’s health is a hilarious suggestion, given his competition,” Kennedy campaign spokeswoman Stephanie Spear said at the time.

“I offer to eat 5 more brain worms and still beat President Trump and President Biden in a debate,” Kennedy, himself, added on social media.

Trump has an average 2 percentage point advantage over Biden when third-party and independent contenders are taken into account, according to RealClearPolitics. That edge decreases to 1 point when polling respondents are not provided with options other than Biden and Trump.
