Rand Paul confirms Fauci’s government-funded security amid retirement rumors.

Sen. Rand Paul⁤ Reveals Government-Funded Security ‍Detail ‍for Retired Dr. ⁣Fauci

During an interview on Jesse Watters Primetime, Sen. Rand Paul⁤ (R-KY) dropped a bombshell⁣ revelation about ⁣former ‍Director of ⁣the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious⁤ Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci. Despite his ⁤alleged retirement, ‌it turns out that Fauci is still receiving government-funded‍ security‌ detail.

According to Paul, the United States Marshals Service is‍ paying ‍for Fauci’s‌ security, with the ⁢Department of Health⁤ and Human Services (HHS) reimbursing the expenses. This information came⁣ to light⁤ after ⁤Paul and⁢ his ⁢team inquired about Fauci’s status and whether he still had a driver⁢ and ‌security detail.

“But then we discovered that Fox ‍did a ‍Freedom of Information‍ Act, ⁤and a ⁢judge forced them to say that while HHS‍ wasn’t directly funding it,‍ the U.S. ⁤Marshals were funding it. ‌So, can you⁤ imagine, we ‍asked ‍the ⁤government,‌ ‘are ‌you funding his⁢ limo, and driver, and security⁣ detail,’ and they ⁣say, ‘Oh, we’re not doing it, ⁤but oh, somebody ‍else is doing⁢ it, and we’re‍ reimbursing⁢ them?’?”

Paul ⁢expressed his‌ frustration‌ with the government’s⁢ lack of⁤ transparency, stating ⁤that it was ‍a clear example of the‍ government lying to its representatives⁢ and the people. He‍ questioned why a retired official‌ like Fauci⁤ would still require ‍such ⁣services, comparing it⁢ to ⁣the treatment ⁣given⁢ to⁢ former presidents.

⁣ ⁢

“The ‍only retired official‌ I ‌know of that⁢ gets this‍ kind ⁢of treatment is a former president. So, I ‌have⁤ no idea⁣ why this⁢ bureaucrat still has a limo driver, ‌security detail,” Paul said. “And ⁤we want to know: Does⁤ he still ⁤get legal representation? — ⁢because he may⁤ need ‍that eventually.”

Paul⁢ also pointed out that ⁣Fauci has the financial means to pay for his own ⁤security⁣ detail‌ and legal defense,‍ highlighting ‌the fact ‌that Fauci’s wealth increased‍ by 30% during the pandemic.

Dr. Fauci announced his ‌retirement in August⁢ 2022, stepping⁣ down from⁢ his NIAID position ‍and as⁣ President Joe Biden’s ⁣chief ⁢medical ‍adviser at the end of the‍ year. ⁢However, Paul⁢ has been critical of ⁤Fauci, accusing him ⁣of‍ using his position ⁤to “weaponize the government” and profiting ‍financially from an alleged cover-up regarding the ⁣origin of the‌ coronavirus.
