Rand Paul praises Musk’s bravery in speaking truth.

Sen. Rand Paul Praises Elon Musk for Defending Free Speech

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) recently commended Elon Musk for his unwavering support of free speech rights, even in the face of potential backlash. Speaking to Jesse Watters Primetime, Paul noted that history will remember Musk as a defender of the First Amendment, much like the ACLU, NAACP, and the Left were in the past.

Musk Defends His Tweeting

Paul specifically referenced Musk’s recent interview with CNBC during Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting, where he defended his tweeting, regardless of any negative impact it might have on Tesla. “I’ll say what I want to say, and if we lose money, so be it,” Musk told CNBC.

Thank God for Someone Who Speaks Their Mind

Paul praised Musk for his willingness to speak his mind and not back down to journalists who try to silence him. He also pointed to the release of the “Twitter Files,” which revealed social media collusion with the federal government to censor information and news stories. Paul emphasized the importance of preventing the government from colluding with private businesses to limit constitutionally protected speech.

New Legislation to Protect Free Speech

Paul announced that he has a bill that would prevent the government from colluding with the media to limit constitutionally protected speech. The legislation will define what constitutes constitutionally protected speech, using Supreme Court precedent to avoid scenarios where the government tries to hide inconvenient truths under the guise of national security threats.
