Pritzker shrugs off Biden’s declining approval rating as an ‘outlier’ poll
Gov. Pritzker Dismisses Biden’s Approval Rating, Defends Democratic Values
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) brushed off the recent Ipsos/ABC poll that revealed President Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit an all-time low. Speaking on This Week, Pritzker confidently defended the Democratic party and its values.
“Well, I will say I think your poll is a bit of an outlier, but here’s what I’ll tell you. This battle hasn’t even been joined yet,” Pritzker stated. “So, I really believe that this hasn’t, you know, seen the day yet where you’ve got a true contrast between a Republican on one side and a Democrat on the other.”
Host Jonathan Karl challenged Pritzker’s statement, citing additional data that questioned Biden’s mental sharpness. However, Pritzker stood firm, emphasizing Biden’s experience and wisdom gained over the years.
“Maybe we ought to start by just acknowledging that Joe Biden has years of experience, that when you talk about someone’s age, you’re also talking about the wisdom that they’ve gained over many years,” Pritzker argued. “Do you think Donald Trump has learned empathy in his life? He has not. Joe Biden has demonstrated it at every turn.”
The poll also revealed that among Republican-leaning respondents, former President Donald Trump was seen as the most empathetic, with 46% believing he understood their problems.
At 81 years old, Biden is the oldest sitting president. If reelected, he would be 86 at the end of his second term. Biden’s Democratic challengers include Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), author Marianne Williamson, and YouTube news anchor Cenk Uygur.
