Planned Parenthood Ramps Up Child Vivisection Thanks To Tax Dollars
In July 2025, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars were redirected to abortion providers after Congress failed to renew a provision that defunded Planned Parenthood. President Donald Trump supported measures in 2025 to restrict federal funding for abortion, including a year-long ban on medicaid reimbursements for abortion services, which was enacted as part of the “One Big Stunning Bill.” Despite multiple congressional attempts to extend this ban, including amendments to Reconciliation Package 2.0,these efforts failed,allowing federal funds to flow back to Planned Parenthood,which then celebrated the restored funding. This federal support, which historically makes up over 40% of Planned Parenthood’s revenue, enabled the association to increase its abortion services last year, although it also experienced clinic closures following the ban.
The defunding movement faces challenges in the current Congress, especially with the pro-life majority slim and approaching midterm elections. Simultaneously occurring, Planned Parenthood is investing heavily in political campaigns to influence future legislation. Critics argue that taxpayer funding for abortion is unjustifiable as community health centers serve substantially more Medicaid beneficiaries more effectively and without federal funding for abortion. States retain the authority to determine Medicaid reimbursements post-Roe, and many conservative states have taken over Medicaid reimbursements for abortion providers.
Public opposition to federal funding of abortion is rising, with grassroots groups and pro-life organizations demanding lawmakers to reinstate and extend defunding efforts. Notable activists and organizations are calling for continued action through protests, campaigns, and prayer initiatives like “Until It Ends,” emphasizing the need to protect the unborn and curb funding for abortion providers nationwide.

President Donald Trump championed multiple funding roadblocks for abortion providers in 2025, and rescinded Hyde Amendment violations instituted by the Biden administration. His efforts culminated in a year-long ban on Medicaid reimbursements for abortion providers. Congress passed this as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill, and signed into law July 4, 2025.
Congress had multiple opportunities to extend the ban over the last year, including a proposed amendment to Reconciliation Package 2.0, but they failed. So America’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood, celebrated returned taxpayer funding on July 5 in its social media and friendly news coverage. Alongside grants, this federal funding historically accounts for more than 40 percent of Planned Parenthood’s annual revenue. One organization official described the expiration as “immediate operational relief,” though insufficient to recoup the year of lost income.
More Child Abuse With Less Funding
Although Planned Parenthood reported a record number of abortions last year, the organization also suffered massive losses following the one-year federal ban, closing a reported 30 of approximately 600 clinics. Capitalizing on lucrative transgender “treatments” and selling the abortion pill across state lines couldn’t recover all that big government had previously reimbursed.
Considering self-described pro-life lawmakers’ slim majority hold, the large-scale impact of defunding accomplished in 2025 may not be achievable after November’s midterm elections. As Congress flounders to pass a third reconciliation package, Planned Parenthood is aggressively acting to prevent future losses and spending millions to target key congressional seats this fall.
Congress has no valid reason to fund abortion providers at taxpayer expense. There is no cost benefit. There is no human benefit. Defunding is easily defensible.
Published data proves that community health-care centers outstrip Planned Parenthoods 15 to 1 in serving Medicaid beneficiaries, and they do it better. In a post-Roe world, states can still determine whether they want to reimburse coverage at clinics that kill the unborn – with or without funds from the federal government. In fact, more than a dozen radically left-leaning states — including California, Maine, and Oregon — took over Medicaid reimbursements during the one-year ban.
Federal funding overrides the entire concept of state choice. Instead, it unevenly spreads taxpayer dollars from the whole country across a patchwork of extremist states that welcome abortion businesses and their death toll.
Americans Demand Action
A growing grassroots effort demanding defunding voices Americans’ frustration with non-representative pro-life lawmakers. On July 16, leading pro-life organizations gathered at Capitol Hill for a press conference, challenging the congressional majority to follow through on their campaign promises to defend the unborn and gender-confused minors.
Several pro-life organizations and citizen groups, including Americans United for Life, Live Action, Human Coalition, and the American Principles Project exhorted Congress to reinstate the abortion defunding it has failed to protect and extend. Several pro-life Congress members spoke at the event, re-affirming their promise to fight and introduce more effective legislation.
The day the funding expired, Live Action President Lila Rose, referred to the restoration of federal funds as a “horrific and preventable atrocity.” She also highlighted a new campaign coined “Until It Ends” — a new initiative where participants pledge to 40 days of fasting, prayer and pro-life advocacy.
