20% of voters consider voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in 2024, reveals poll
A New Poll Reveals Surprising Findings for the 2024 Elections
A recent poll released on Monday has unveiled some intriguing insights into the upcoming 2024 elections. It appears that 1 in 5 voters are open to the possibility of supporting independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This unexpected revelation has sparked curiosity and speculation among political enthusiasts.
Enthusiasm for a Biden vs. Trump Rematch is Waning
Interestingly, the same poll indicates that only 1 in 4 registered voters are enthusiastic about the idea of a potential rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. These findings, conducted by Monmouth University, shed light on the shifting dynamics of voter preferences.
BIDEN LOSING YOUNG VOTERS TO TRUMP AS HE FALLS BEHIND IN TWO SWING STATES
While the poll does not provide a clear picture of the impact Kennedy would have on the race, it does reveal that his support is evenly divided between Trump and Biden. This revelation raises questions about the potential consequences for both candidates if Kennedy were to enter the race.
Among the 1 in 5 voters open to voting for Kennedy, 6% expressed definite support, while 15% said they would probably vote for him. These numbers suggest that Trump and Biden could lose 14% of their respective bases in a hypothetical contest.
Specifically, Biden would lose 4% of his support, while Trump would lose 3%. Additionally, nearly half of the voters who refuse to support either Biden or Trump expressed a definite (15%) or probable (34%) inclination to support Kennedy.
Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute, commented, “We are witnessing a closely contested race at this stage. This seems to be the case regardless of Kennedy’s candidacy, especially since voters have yet to fully engage with the alternatives.”
Kennedy initially ran as a Democratic challenger to Biden before transitioning to an independent campaign. Initially, conservatives appeared receptive to Kennedy, as they believed he could siphon crucial votes away from Biden. However, as subsequent polls suggested that Kennedy could also harm Trump’s campaign, conservative support for him has seemingly waned.
In October, when Kennedy announced his independent switch, both the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee publicly criticized him. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung stated, “Voters should not be deceived by anyone who pretends to have conservative values.” Similarly, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel referred to Kennedy as a “Democrat in Independent’s clothing.”
According to the poll, 24% of voters hold a favorable opinion of Kennedy, while 34% view him unfavorably. Notably, Democrats (55%) are more likely than Republicans (17%) to hold unfavorable views of him. Furthermore, only 13% of voters claimed to have never heard of Kennedy, highlighting the recognition his last name commands. Additionally, half of the participants surveyed were aware of Kennedy’s controversial claims linking autism to COVID-19 vaccines.
“Kennedy’s name may be well-known, but his policy positions are not. However, it’s not clear that knowing those positions will move his support levels either up or down. At the current time, he appears to be more of a placeholder for expressing some generalized dissatisfaction with the likely trajectory of the 2024 nomination process,” Murray concluded.
The poll was conducted via telephone from November 30 to December 4 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

What implications would Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent candidacy have on the 2024 elections, particularly for Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and the traditional two-party system
Lm before the storm, with voters showing a significant openness to considering an independent candidate like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
What’s Causing the Shift?
The reasons behind the shifting dynamics of voter preferences can be attributed to a variety of factors. Firstly, the current political climate has left many Americans feeling disillusioned and dissatisfied with the two major parties. Kennedy’s potential candidacy offers a fresh perspective and an alternative to the status quo.
Secondly, Kennedy’s name carries considerable weight and nostalgia. As the son of the late Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, he represents a storied political legacy that resonates with many voters. This connection to the Kennedy family brings a sense of familiarity and trust, which could be appealing to those seeking a change from the current political landscape.
Implications for the 2024 Elections
If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. decides to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections, his presence could have far-reaching implications for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump. With a significant portion of voters open to the idea of supporting Kennedy, the two major parties would face the challenge of retaining their respective bases.
Biden would need to address the concerns of the 4% of his supporters who are drawn to Kennedy, while Trump would have to contend with losing 3% of his base to the independent candidate. Furthermore, nearly half of the voters who refuse to support either Biden or Trump have expressed a strong inclination to back Kennedy. This suggests that his entry into the race could potentially fracture the traditional two-party system and lead to significant reshuffling of voter support.
Ultimately, the 2024 elections are shaping up to be a highly competitive and unpredictable race. The unexpected revelation of significant support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the two major parties and a desire for change. Whether or not Kennedy chooses to capitalize on this opportunity remains to be seen, but his potential candidacy has undoubtedly stirred curiosity and speculation among political enthusiasts.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, it is essential for candidates and voters alike to adapt and respond to the shifting dynamics. The upcoming 2024 elections will serve as a crucial test for the resilience and flexibility of the American democratic system. Only time will tell what lies ahead, but one thing is certain – the potential candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has injected a new level of excitement and uncertainty into the political arena.
