National Archives has 5,400 Biden pseudonym emails in legal dispute.

National Archives Admits to Possessing 5,400 Biden Pseudonym Emails Amid Legal Battle

The National Archives is currently ‌holding approximately 5,400 emails from accounts used by now-President Joe Biden to communicate with his⁤ son, ⁢Hunter, under a fake⁢ name⁤ during his time as vice president in the Obama administration, ‌according to the Southeastern Legal Foundation.

The foundation recently filed a lawsuit to obtain these ‌emails after ‍the Archives ⁤failed to honor a Freedom of Information Act request for the material.

As part of the ‍lawsuit, a letter from National‍ Archives Director Stephanie⁣ Oriabure to Kimberly ‌S. Hermann, ‍general counsel for the Southeastern Legal Foundation, was included as an exhibit.

“We have‌ performed a search of our collection for Vice Presidential records related to your request and have identified approximately 5,138 email messages, 25 ⁢electronic files and 200 pages of potentially responsive⁢ records that must ⁤be processed in order to respond ‌to your request,” Oriabure wrote in the letter.

In‍ June, the National Archives and⁢ Records Administration released a case record containing four emails, two of‍ which were redacted and two of which were withheld. ⁣Both of ‌the released emails were sent from former Biden aide John⁢ Flynn to the then-vice president, with Hunter Biden copied on both,‍ as reported by Newsweek.

The foundation revealed that ‌Biden used the pseudonyms Robin ‍Ware, Robert⁣ L. Peters, and JRB Ware, as reported on its website.

According to the foundation,⁣ their initial attempt to ⁣obtain these emails was ⁣made in 2021, but they were informed that the‍ emails could not be released⁤ until after January ⁢20, 2022, which marked five years since the archives took possession of them.

After identifying nearly 5,400 potentially responsive records, ⁤the foundation stated that the National Archives has ‍failed to produce a single email, prompting them to file the lawsuit.

Kimberly S. Hermann emphasized the importance of public officials ⁣being ⁣held accountable for their actions, stating, ⁢“The only way to preserve governmental integrity is for NARA to‌ release Biden’s nearly 5,400‍ emails to SLF and thus ‌the public. The⁤ American public deserves⁢ to‌ know what is in them.”

Brandon Boucek, the foundation’s litigation director, expressed that court action was their last ‍resort, emphasizing the significance of public transparency‍ in holding the political‌ class⁣ accountable.

The foundation also ‍noted that House Republicans are seeking access to these emails as‍ part of their investigation into the ‌business activities ‍of Biden family members.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich expressed his ⁤frustration ‌with‌ the situation in a ⁣social media post, questioning the National Archives’ ability to quickly⁣ find President Trump’s material but somehow ⁢missing the 5,400 emails involving business, corruption, and Hunter Biden.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer also emphasized the need for transparency, stating, “The National Archives‌ must provide these unredacted records to further our investigation ‍into the Biden family’s⁤ corruption.”

A report by Just the News revealed that the pseudonym emails were used by both father and son for various purposes. One email from Hunter Biden to his father in June 2014 discussed an appointment to be filled at ‍the Treasury Department.

“Before you fill the positions, pls talk to me,” Hunter Biden wrote.

“Call me right away,‌ Dad,” Joe Biden responded.

It is ⁤clear that the⁣ battle for these 5,400 Biden pseudonym emails is far from ⁣over, as the Southeastern Legal Foundation ‌continues its legal fight for public transparency and ⁢accountability.
