Trump also mentioned that Scott Jennings, a conservative radio host and CNN contributor, is a good candidate to succeed her and remarked on the high volume of job applications for her former position. Trump’s comments included a joke about Leavitt loving her baby more than him. Throughout her tenure, Leavitt maintained a close relationship with Trump, and her departure coincides with her joining the presidential staff for the RNC’s midterm convention. The exact title she will hold at MAGA Inc. has not been disclosed.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Friday that she will be returning to the Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc. after exiting the White House.
Leavitt said that she is leaving her role at the White House so she can spend more time with her children, having given birth to her second child earlier this year. The press secretary gave birth to her first child in 2024, cutting her maternity leave short to just a few days after then-candidate Donald Trump faced an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump joked about his disappointment in seeing Leavitt leave her position at a rally with Sen. Darline Graham Nordone (R-SC), saying, “I just learned she loves the baby more than she loves Donald Trump, and I’m very angry with her.”
The press secretary told reporters during the trip that her travel with the president to the South Carolina rally would be her last in her current position, though she will also join the presidential staff for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention.
After previously saying she would remain “a top advisor to [the president] on the outside,” she clarified that her new position will be at a previous employer, the MAGA Inc. super PAC, NBC News reported. She had worked for the organization before joining Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign team. She has not revealed her new title at the time of writing.
The president and Leavitt have enjoyed a close relationship since she joined Trump on the campaign trail in 2024. The president said, when announcing her resignation on Truth Social, called her “one of my most trusted aides.”
“Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office,” he continued. “Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!”

Speculation has run rampant on who might replace Leavitt for the job, with Trump saying in reply to reporters’ questions on the matter, “Scott Jennings is good.” Jennings is a conservative radio show host and CNN senior political contributor.
“I will tell you this, and Karoline will tell you this: I have never had so many job applications in my life,” Trump said in front of Air Force One on Friday. “They all want that job. They love that job. She has made that job very glamorous.”
