House Republicans Call for Investigation into Biden Administration’s Response to Maui Wildfires
House Republicans are demanding answers regarding the federal response to the devastating wildfires that swept through Maui. More than two weeks after the fires, hundreds of individuals are still missing, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the government’s actions.
During a visit to Syracuse, New York, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy expressed his deep concern over the tragedy and emphasized the need for a congressional investigation. McCarthy stated, “We still have hundreds of individuals that are missing. I think there’s going to have to be a congressional investigation into the response on Maui. How could you lose that many Americans?”
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation. He described Biden’s visit to Maui as “frightening” and accused him of being out of touch with reality. Gingrich questioned the decision-making process in the White House and expressed his disappointment as an American citizen.
