Vice President Kamala Harris: Republican Criticism Stems from Fear
Vice President Kamala Harris confidently addressed Republican criticism during a recent interview, suggesting that her opponents are simply “scared” of her and the impressive work she has accomplished. Speaking on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” with Margaret Brennan, Harris dismissed the attacks and emphasized the merit of her and President Joe Biden’s administration.
Brennan raised concerns expressed by Republican presidential candidates, who have warned that Harris could assume the presidency if anything were to happen to Biden, who would be 86 at the end of a potential second term. Harris responded to these claims by stating that those making such remarks lack a genuine plan for America.
Highlighting quotes from prominent Republicans, Brennan underscored the level of criticism Harris has faced:
- NIKKI HALEY: “A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for a President Kamala Harris.”
- CHRIS CHRISTIE: “I want to be clear that I pray every night for Joe Biden’s good health, not only because he’s our president, but because of who our vice president is.”
- RON DESANTIS: “Harris is his impeachment insurance… people know if she were president – Katy bar the door. As bad as Biden did, it would get worse.”
When asked about her response to these criticisms, Harris confidently stated, “Listen, this is not new. There’s nothing new about that. They feel the need to attack because they’re scared that we will win based on the merit of the work that Joe Biden and I, and our administration, has done.”
Addressing concerns even within the Democratic party about Biden’s age, Brennan mentioned that some Democrats are worried. Harris swiftly reassured, “Joe Biden is going to be fine.”
