June Social Security direct payment worth $994 goes out in two days

June 2026 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments-up to $994 for individuals-are scheduled to be sent to recipients in two days. SSI benefits are generally paid on the first day of each month to people with limited income who are blind, age 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability.

The exact payment amount depends on factors such as the number of people filing.Couples filing jointly may receive up to $1,491, and those providing essential care to SSI recipients can receive up to $498.

To qualify, recipients must meet the program’s standard eligibility requirements and also be U.S. citizens or certain eligible noncitizens approved under DHS alien classifications. They must reside in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and they must not be absent from the U.S. for an entire calendar month or for 30 consecutive days.
