The Decline of Judeo-Christian Values in America

In a thought-provoking warning, Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro argues that the traditional Judeo-Christian values that once formed the bedrock of American culture have been replaced by a new “cultish religion” that seeks to destroy Western civilization.

The Lack of Religious Knowledge

Shapiro’s comments were prompted by a recent episode of “Jeopardy!” where none of the contestants were able to complete a portion of the Lord’s Prayer. This incident, according to Shapiro, highlights the alarming lack of knowledge about the religious traditions that have held American society together.

“But you know what this says?” Shapiro exclaimed on his podcast. “It really says that the level of biblical Judeo-Christian knowledge in this country has absolutely plummeted through the floor. And you want to know why America’s collapsing socially? That would be the reason. The reason is there used to be a natural backdrop in the United States of particularly Christian values that everybody sort of understood.”

The Forgotten Clue

During the episode, host Mayim Bialik presented a clue that said, “Matthew 6:9 says, ‘Our Father, which art in heaven, [THIS] be thy name.'” Surprisingly, none of the contestants buzzed in with the correct response. Shapiro, being Jewish, acknowledged that the Lord’s Prayer is not a part of his religious practice but emphasized that the answer is commonly known as “hallowed.”

The Importance of Traditional Values

Shapiro further emphasized that people of faith, including Christians, Jews, and Muslims, hold traditional values that sharply contrast with the new values being promoted by schools and corporations across the country.

“There is a common set of values shared by Jews and Christians and Muslims, actually,” Shapiro explained. “And that set of values actually makes a difference in American public life. It’s why the notion that we should be posting ‘Pride’ progress flags in classrooms, but not the Ten Commandments is so absurd on its face.”

The Rise of a Toxic Religion

According to Shapiro, Judeo-Christian values have been “supplanted” by a newer toxic religion that seeks to dismantle Western civilization. He describes this new religion as a “bad” and “cultish” belief system that not only demands acceptance and tolerance but also the destruction of the traditional moral foundations that have long supported Western society.
