Jon Hamm voices ad for Hawley’s Dem opponent: ‘Real courage can’t be faked.’

Actor Jon Hamm Narrates Ad for Sen. Josh Hawley’s Opponent

Actor Jon Hamm narrated an advertisement released on Monday in promotion of Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) Democratic 2024 opponent, Lucas Kunce. The ad criticizes Hawley’s new book, Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs, and emphasizes the importance of courage. Hamm, who was born and raised in Missouri, states that “Courage isn’t something you can give speeches or write a book about. It’s not sitting on the sidelines while others sacrifice, or denying help to those who did. It isn’t putting people down or trying to control them or using your own power for profit or ambition.”

Lucas Kunce: A Different Kind of Democrat

Kunce, a 13-year veteran of the Marines, brands himself as a “different kind of Democrat” and is running for Senate to fight for everyday Missourians. He tweeted the ad alongside the message, “Jon Hamm’s got a message for Missouri: If you want to be told about ‘Manhood,’ Josh Hawley wrote a book about it. But if you want a Marine veteran fighting for you and everyday Missourians in the U.S. Senate, then join us: http://LucasKunce.com.”

Hawley’s Response

Hawley’s office did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment. Despite Kunce’s challenge, his Missouri Senate seat is rated as solidly red, according to the Cook Political Report.
