Hunter Biden’s Attorney Says Suspicious Activity Reports ‘Illegally’ Leaked to Former Trump Aide, Requests IG Investigation

Hold onto your hats, folks! The drama surrounding Hunter Biden’s alleged foreign business dealings just got even more intense. Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, is claiming that bank records related to his client were “illegally” leaked and is calling for an investigation into how a former Trump aide obtained them. The records in question are suspicious activity reports (SARs) that allegedly connect the Biden family to foreign entities. Republican lawmakers have been investigating these transactions and have raised allegations of foreign influence peddling.

But here’s where it gets really juicy: the former Trump aide, Garrett Ziegler, disseminated five of the purported SARs linked to Hunter Biden through his website, Marco Polo. Ziegler claims that he received the documents from a JP Morgan insider who was concerned about a cover-up in the Hunter Biden federal investigation. However, Lowell alleges that any bank employee who divulged the SARs to Ziegler would have violated banking regulations.

Lowell has sent a letter to the U.S. Treasury Department’s inspector general, requesting an investigation into how Ziegler obtained the bank records. He argues that legal protections for journalists who publish documents received from whistleblowers do not apply to Ziegler in this case, as he allegedly “conspired to make unauthorized disclosures of suspicious activity reports.”

Marco Polo has defended its actions, claiming that they have been approached by numerous whistleblowers who do not trust traditional outlets. However, the question remains: how did Ziegler get his hands on these documents? The plot thickens…
