Hillary Clinton and celebrities bemoan Trump’s leadership during first 100 days

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was among the multitude of leftist politicians and celebrities to complain publicly about President Donald Trump and his second term’s first 100 days back in the Oval Office.

Trump is marking the landmark 100th day of his second administration by attending a rally in Michigan on Tuesday evening, though others have taken to social media to express criticism, including Clinton. The former Democratic presidential nominee, who lost her bid for the White House in 2016 against Trump, wrote that Trump “alienated us from our allies” since Jan. 20, likely referring to the president’s use of tariffs.

“In Trump’s first 100 days, he alienated us from our allies, crashed the stock market, decimated U.S. cancer research, expelled American toddlers, lost the Canadian election by proxy, and threatened your Social Security checks,” Clinton wrote on X. “But at least he focused on the important stuff.”

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg also took a moment on Tuesday to note that the day marked Trump’s 100th day in office, claiming that it actually “feels like a hundred years.” She also took a jab at Trump’s low approval ratings, stating that it is the lowest of any president in the last 70 years.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) attacked the president for not addressing the cost of living yet, accusing Trump of “crashing the economy” and blaming “rubber stamp Republicans” for allowing it to happen.

Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI), who just filed impeachment articles against Trump, took to X noting how the president is traveling to Michigan on Tuesday, stating he would be greeted with a billboard promoting the impeachment attempt on him.

Meanwhile, former Meet the Press anchor Chuck Todd argued that border security is the only thing to have improved under Trump’s leadership, claiming that the economy has gone down and the general public is “not happy” about Trump’s first 100 days. Going forward, however, Todd argued the question will be what the next hundred days have in store.

RUNDOWN: TRUMP’S FIRST 100 DAYS FOR THE ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT SECTORS

On Monday night, comedian Jon Stewart took a segment of his weekly appearance on The Daily Show to joke about Trump’s leadership during the first 100 days, suggesting voters were sold the “illusion” of Trump being “the master, the art of the deal,” calling “bulls***” on the idea.

Prior to Tuesday evening’s rally, Trump delivered a speech to the Michigan National Guard, in which he detailed how much of the United States’s “Golden Dome,” similar to Israel’s Iron Dome, will be built in Michigan. He also joked about becoming Pope Francis’s successor, though he clarified that he personally does not have a preference on the next pope.
