Poll: Majority of Voters Believe Joe Biden Involvement in Son’s Business DEALINGS

A recent Harvard/CAPS poll ‍revealed that⁤ a‌ significant ⁤majority of ⁣voters support impeaching President Joe Biden if evidence links him to foreign influence peddling. Despite‍ a prolonged GOP investigation into ⁤the ⁤Biden family’s activities, key evidence remains elusive. The poll ‌indicates bipartisan ⁤agreement that such involvement would warrant impeachment, ⁢yet challenges persist in substantiating these claims.

A growing majority of voters support the impeachment of President Joe Biden if evidence shows foreign influence peddling despite House Republicans‘ 15-month investigation into the Biden family appearing to hit a dead end.

A new Harvard/CAPS poll released Monday found that 71% of respondents believe that if the president is found to have worked with Hunter Biden to bring in “multimillion dollars [and] fees from China, Russia, and the Ukraine while he was vice president,” it would be an impeachable offense. The poll found a majority of all political affiliations, 52% of Democrats, 89% of Republicans, and 74% of independents or others, agree the situation would warrant impeachment.

Most Republicans, 84%, believe Joe Biden helped or participated in his son’s business dealings, while only 36% of Democrats and 55% of independents agreed. However, under the condition that evidence is uncovered that proves the House GOP’s investigation into the “alleged criminal scheme” on behalf of the Biden family, more Democrats would agree it is an impeachable offense.

The poll comes as the Republican impeachment inquiry appears to be coming up short. The investigation focuses on three main things: whether Joe Biden improperly used his position of power to enrich himself and his family, whether he used his influence to pressure the Department of Justice to help his son avoid criminal charges, and how involved he was in his family’s foreign business dealings.

So far, both the House Oversight and Judiciary committees have failed to produce definitive evidence that ties Joe Biden to any criminal activity or misconduct that constitutes a high crime or misdemeanor, or an impeachable offense.

Democrats have accused Republicans of wasting time, money, and resources on a politically motivated investigation, while GOP leaders, including Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), are continuing to hold hearings and call witnesses as they search for something to back up their claims.

“The Bidens’ corruption is plain as day to the American people,” Comer said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “Despite Corporate Media and Democrats trying to cover up President Biden and his family’s corruption, Americans aren’t buying what they are selling. This new poll shows we’ve been able to cut through the noise by presenting evidence to the American people.”

Comer has previously said the inquiry could still also lead to legislative reforms or criminal referrals, rather than an impeachment vote. However, the Oversight Committee chairman is reportedly getting frustrated with his investigation, which has lasted months and has little to no evidence to show for it.

He reportedly told lawmakers he was ready to “be done” with the impeachment inquiry, according to CNN. However, the committee has pushed back against that report.

“The impeachment inquiry is ongoing and impeachment is 100% still on the table,” a House Oversight Committee spokesperson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “The Committees will continue to investigate President Biden’s abuse of public office and will outline findings in a final report with recommendations.”

Most recently, Comer sent a letter to the White House criticizing it for refusing to respond to the committee’s requests for the inquiry. The Kentucky Republican has asked for details about Joe Biden’s interactions with foreign executives with whom Hunter Biden and the president’s brother James Biden engaged in business dealings but has not received a response. Comer accused Joe Biden of obstructing congressional oversight efforts and suggested the president was committing “impeachable offenses” by that act alone.

While the public may be split on how to handle Joe Biden’s involvement in the alleged criminal scheme, a majority of voters across the political spectrum believe Hunter Biden is guilty of tax evasion and that the first son should serve jail time if convicted. The poll found that 56% of Democrats, 87% of Republicans, and 75% of independents or others agreed the first son should serve jail time if convicted.

The first son is currently facing federal firearm charges in Delaware and was indicted on nine new tax charges in December 2023 in California. Last week, he asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit to hear his arguments for the dismissal of his three felony charges in Delaware.
