Gisele Bundchen Attends Met Gala Solo For First Time In More Than A Decade

Gisele Bundchen Stuns at 2023 Met Gala Solo for First Time in Over a Decade

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen made a statement at the 2023 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, attending solo for the first time in over a decade following her divorce from NFL star Tom Brady in October 2022.

Decked out in a feathered cape and a floor-length white sequined gown from the Chanel Spring-Summer 2007 Couture, the 42-year-old turned heads and paid tribute to the late German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, this year’s theme.

Choosing the Perfect Dress

Bundchen spoke briefly to Vogue about her choice of dress for the event, revealing that it was vintage Chanel and one she had previously worn in an editorial with Lagerfeld in 2006 or 2007.

“When I was picking a dress, I was like, which dress that is going to be the dress,” she said. “And I thought, this is going to be the one.”

A Met Gala Staple

Bundchen is no stranger to the annual fashion showcase, having first attended in 2003, according to People magazine.

When she hit the red carpet in 2006, it would be the last time she attended as a single girl. Bundchen and Brady quickly became a staple, appearing together at the event for the next 15 years.

Breaking Her Silence

The supermodel recently spoke out about her divorce from Brady after 13 years of marriage, dispelling rumors about what led to their split, as previously reported.

“As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make,” Bundchen explained. “That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person. It just means that in order for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance.”

Despite their split, Bundchen and Brady remain supportive of each other, with the quarterback posting a cryptic quote about “betrayal” after Bundchen’s interview.
