Get the Facts: Red Meat Is an Essential Part of a Healthy Diet

Red meats, such as lamb and beef, are finally receiving the respect that they deserve. Peer-reviewed medical research clearly shows that red meats are getting the respect they deserve. meat Eaten from “nose-to-tail” does not cause cancer, does not damage the gut, and does not endanger a person’s overall health. It is, in fact, wonderful to eat ruminant animals such as sheep and cattle from nose-totail. This helps support a strong immune system.

In this article, I’ll explain some current research and how I have used this in my cancer protocols, as well as with my coaching clients from around the world.

But first, I want to share my dining experience in one of the most incredible restaurants I’ve eaten. It was located in my hometown.

Delicious Dining Experience

Charleston, South Carolina, is my home. Since 30 years. Robert’s of Charleston was ranked as a rare, internationally-recognized restaurant. The restaurant was founded by Robert Dickson and Pam Dickson in July 1976. In its early years, the restaurant could seat 28 people and featured a fixed-price six-course menu. Robert expanded the restaurant’s size over time, but he still offered his amazing and exclusive menu.

There was a lot to love about the restaurant. My wife and me had the privilege of enjoying it many times. Robert was the proprietor, the chef, the opera singer, and the star. He prepared a delicious meal for his patrons almost every night with just one seat. He started the meal with an amazing hors d’oeuvre, followed by an appetizer soup, salad, sorbet as a palate cleanser, the main course, and a delectable dessert. For a memorable evening, the meal featured perfectly paired wines. The perfect cup of coffee was served to end it all.

Robert served the main course, which was the highlight of the entire dining experience. It was perfectly cooked and medium-rare chateaubriand. He strutted around the dining room, showing the tenderloin and singing to everyone. “Food, Glorious Food.” (“Food, Glorious Food” Lionel Bart wrote this song, which was also the opening song of the 1960s West End musical Oliver! Robert then cut and plated the magnificent piece of meat that was served to the guests.

The dining experience, along with Robert Dickson’s musical repertoire, was extraordinary, and people would visit his restaurant from all over the world.

Red meat through time

Red meat is good for your health! It’s always been the choice of our species over time. Throughout evolution, meat, animal fat, as well as all organs, have been staples of the human body. Research published by Dr. Miki Ben-Dor has described the facts about an animal-based method of eating.

Current Science

  1. New research The article was published in Nature Medicine in October 2022. The scientists sought to determine the relationship between unprocessed meat consumption and six possible health outcomes. There was only weak evidence that unprocessed meat consumption is associated with colorectal, breast, and heart disease. They also did not find any evidence that red meat consumption was associated with stroke. Also, there was no reason to deny red meat as a part of a healthy diet.
  2. In another paperIn 2019, an extensive evaluation of the findings was published in Annals of Internal Medicine. They concluded that there was no evidence to support the claim that meat causes any type of disease including heart disease or cancer. The authors reviewed dozens of studies that covered millions of participants over 34 years. The peer-reviewed paper contained both observational and randomized controlled trials. It covered a broad range of outcomes including all-cause mortality, cardiovascular-metabolic disease, cancer incidence and death.
  3. A controlled study of Kenyan children Published in 2013. The research was published in 2013.
  4. In another 2022 studyResearchers found that a higher intake of total meat is positively related to increased life expectancy. This study was based on 175 current populations.
  5. This 2022 study Research showed that children six- to 24 months old who ate animal-based food had a greater physical growth rate.
  6. The first time that the 2020–2025 edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans This included guidelines for infants and toddlers ranging in age from 24 months to 24. These guidelines were based on evidence and stressed the importance of foods rich iron and zinc. Iron-rich and zinc-rich red meat is an ideal first food to help meet an infant’s nutrient needs starting at approximately six months old.

  8. This is how it works 2020 published paperThe authors found that people who eat less meat had a significantly greater risk of anxiety, depression, and/or self harm.

Red meat’s nutritional content

The richness of vitamin B12 found in ruminant meats is crucial for the proper functioning almost all of your body’s pathways. B12 deficiency can lead to everything, including neurological disorders, infertility, cancer, heart disease, and mental illness. The other B vitamins found in red meat are highly bioavailable, including thiamine (vitamin B1) and riboflavin(vitamin B2) as well as pantothenic (vitamin B5) and pyridoxal, (vitamin B6) and folate (vitamin B9). The 2022 paper entitled, “Priority Micronutrient Density in Foods,” According to the authors, red meats (including organs and muscle meats) are six of 10 most nutritious foods.

It’s interesting to see that red meat is the only source of vitamin D in a bioavailable, usable form. That’s because red meat contains a vitamin D metabolite called 25-hydroxycholecalciferol, which is absorbed much more quickly and easily than other dietary forms of vitamin D.

Red meat also has the added benefit of heme iron. This iron is much more bioavailable than iron found in plant foods.

Red meat is an important source of copper and zinc in the right bioavailability ratios. Zinc utilization can be increased by consuming small amounts of red meat. Zinc, an essential mineral, is an integral part of many physiological functions. It is responsible for the structure and regulation of gene expression and enzyme activity. Zinc deficiency is more common in those who eat a vegetarian diet.

Red meat’s impressive nutrient content is not complete. Other minerals such as magnesium, cobalt and phosphorus are found in red meat.

Red meat shines because of its fatty acids profile. The fat of grass-eating cattle and sheep ruminants is approximately equal in saturated and monounsaturated fats, with a small percentage of polyunsaturated. This is due to the unique digestive system of ruminants. Additionally, grass-fed meats and dairy products are great dietary sources for conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), which can be beneficial for the immune system, cardiovascular health, as well as anticancer functions.

My Red Meat Consumption

I consume beef or lamb at minimum five times per week. I also consume organs mostly in dried form each day.
