Fulton County prosecutors request meeting with Trump attorney Christina Bobb

Fulton County prosecutors have requested an interview with Christina Bobb, an attorney representing former President Donald Trump, as they build their case against him and his allies over efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

According to criminal defense attorney John Lauro, who is representing Bobb, prosecutors from District Attorney Fani Willis’s office made the request following the submission of a grand jury’s report indicating criminal charges for at least one witness. The office is considering conspiracy and racketeering charges.

In response, Bobb plans to deny the interview request. Trump’s legal counsel also filed to quash the final report from the grand jury the same day.

Bobb is currently at the center of two Justice Department special counsel investigations, including her role in the discovery of classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The grand jury report noted that a majority of the grand jury believed at least one of the more than 75 witnesses who testified committed perjury or lied under oath. Willis has stated that charges against witnesses are “imminent.”

Willis began her investigation into alleged election interference after a recording was posted of a phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which Trump urged Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in Georgia.

Other areas of focus for the grand jury include the formation of an alternate slate of GOP electors who signed certificates stating that Trump had won the Georgia general election.
