DA Investigator in Fulton County shoots herself at courthouse.
A Female Investigator Accidentally Shoots Herself in the Leg at Courthouse
A female investigator from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office caused quite a stir at the Fulton County Courthouse last week when she accidentally fired her gun, injuring herself in the leg.
According to WSB-FM, the woman was “alert, conscious, and breathing” after the incident on Friday.
While some reports suggested that there was an evacuation at the courthouse, others stated that no official evacuation was ordered.
Authorities confirmed that there was no active threat at the courthouse, which is currently hosting the racketeering trial of former President Donald Trump and 18 other defendants related to the 2020 election.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office posted on Twitter that the shooting was an accidental discharge by the investigator and that she was not critically wounded.

According to WAGA-TV, the investigator accidentally shot herself in the leg inside a fourth-floor handicap-accessible bathroom.
Former prosecutor Ash Joshi stated, “It was an accidental shooting, so there is no intent to commit a crime. Unfortunately for the investigator, she was the one who was shot.”
The investigator’s identity has not been disclosed, but she is expected to fully recover.
Due to the upcoming Trump trial, security at the courthouse has been heightened.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently revealed that attorney Lin Wood is a ”witness for the state,” as reported by CNN.
Wood later clarified on Telegram that he had not “flipped” on Trump and was subpoenaed in the case of lawyer Sidney Powell, who will stand trial next month.
Several defendants in the case, including former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, are seeking to have their cases moved to federal court.
Meadows, who initially failed in his attempt to have his case transferred, is now appealing to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, according to USA Today.
Meadows argues that his trip to Georgia was part of his official duties, stating, “This is not a case where the Chief of Staff went down to Georgia in his private capacity and got in some kerfuffle; it is a criminal prosecution of the Chief of Staff based on actions taken in the White House while discharging his official duties.”
