Eric Adams champions the ‘American Dream’ by proposing work visas for undocumented immigrants.

New York City Mayor⁣ Pushes for Work Visas for Immigrants

New York City Mayor Eric Adams passionately invoked the spirit of the “American⁣ Dream” on‌ Thursday‌ as he ⁢advocated for granting work visas to the undocumented ‍immigrants who have flocked to his city.

“It is the right of everybody ‌who comes to the United States to work and pursue the ‘American Dream’,” Adams declared, drawing a parallel between present-day undocumented immigrants ⁣and the legal immigrants ⁢of the 20th ‌century.

“Imagine‌ if that right was stripped away from you. I don’t care if you were the early Irish, early Italians,⁢ uh, ⁣the early‌ Jews, the early Japanese … No matter⁤ who ⁢you are or who you came‌ from, you came ‍here to pursue the American Dream,” ⁤he passionately expressed.

According to ⁣Adams, the “asylum seekers” in his city are not seeking free handouts but rather the opportunity⁢ to work and contribute to ⁣society.

“We must expedite work visas,” he emphasized. “It’s just common sense. Thousands of ‌jobs are available that can fulfill the needs of our city, state, and country.”

Adams stressed that resolving this issue requires the involvement of the national government, as it is not solely a New York City matter.

“This is a national issue, ‌and it must be⁤ resolved by the national government,” Adams asserted.

Join the Fight‍ for a Better ⁢Future

Adams passionately called on critics ⁣to⁤ actively participate in finding ⁤solutions rather than merely spectating from the sidelines.

“So don’t critique what we’ve done! Don’t tell us how we could have done it better! Don’t sit in‍ the bleachers and be a spectator on this full-contact sport called ⁢’asylum seekers’! Get on the field and fight this battle with us,” he urged.
