Additionally, the logo will feature a QR code that links to a registry of certified devices, providing users with quick access to verified information.
The program will also establish cybersecurity requirements for internet routers, which are frequently targeted by hackers. The FCC is expected to release the specific details of these requirements by the end of 2023.
Encouraging Retailers to Promote Secure Devices
The White House encourages retail stores to prioritize the sale of labeled devices, ensuring that consumers have access to secure options. Notably, major retail companies such as Amazon and Best Buy have already pledged their support for this initiative.
