DeSantis criticizes Trump during joint Iowa visit.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Talks Winning Strategies for GOP

During his recent visit to Iowa, Governor Ron DeSantis shared his thoughts on how the Republican Party can secure future victories. In his speech, he emphasized the need to reject the “culture of losing” that has plagued the party in recent years.

This statement was seen by many as a subtle jab at former President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly claimed that the 2020 election was stolen. DeSantis believes that if the GOP wants to win in 2024, they must focus on providing a positive alternative for the future of the country and make the election a referendum on Joe Biden and his failures.

Excuses Are No Longer Acceptable

“The time for excuses is over,” DeSantis declared. He warned that if Republicans continue to focus on the past, it will be difficult to recover from defeat. Instead, he urged the party to look forward and provide a clear vision for the future.

DeSantis made his speech at the Feenstra Family Picnic, hosted by Rep Randy Feenstra (R-IA). Interestingly, Trump was scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Des Moines on the same day, but it was canceled due to weather.

DeSantis for President?

Although DeSantis has not yet announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, he is considered a top contender for the GOP nomination. In fact, two high-profile Iowa Republicans, Senate President Amy Sinclair and House Majority Leader Matt Windschitl, have already endorsed him.

Sinclair described DeSantis as “head and shoulders” above any other Republican primary challengers, making her endorsement an easy decision.

Conclusion

DeSantis’s speech in Iowa was a call to action for the Republican Party. He believes that if they want to win in 2024, they must reject the culture of losing and provide a positive alternative for the future of the country. Will the GOP heed his advice? Only time will tell.

  • Reject the culture of losing
  • Focus on providing a positive alternative for the future
  • Make the election a referendum on Joe Biden and his failures
  • Look forward, not backward
