Crenshaw criticizes Biden’s defense instincts as ‘wrong’ and questions his thought process.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw Blasts Biden’s Handling of War in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Requests F-16 Fighter Jets

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) has criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Ukraine, stating that he has had “the wrong instincts on this for a long time.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has long requested F-16 fighter jets, and while the United States has maintained that they would provide little value to the war effort, it has now indicated that it will not stand in the way of other countries providing them and will itself help to train Ukrainian pilots.

Crenshaw’s Criticism of Biden’s Pattern of Providing Aid to Ukraine

Crenshaw told Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy that Biden’s pattern of providing aid to Ukraine has lacked the instincts that would help end the war. “Biden’s had the wrong instincts on this for a long time. He initially resisted sending Ukraine tanks, then allowed that to happen, and now allowing at least our allies to send Ukrainians F-16s and then allowing U.S. trainers to help them train on those planes,” Crenshaw said. “What changed in Biden’s head? I don’t know, because I don’t know what goes on in Biden’s head on a day-to-day basis.”

Strategic Goal: Make Russia Lose Hope

“But what you don’t want to do is just keep this war going forever, just by giving the Ukrainians just enough to survive. No, you want them to start winning so the Russians lose hope. That is the strategic goal here,” the Texas congressman continued. “Make Russia lose hope. Make Russia feel that they can’t advance anymore and that they have to do a peace deal. That should be the goal. And so I’m glad they’re doing this — it’s, once again, it’s too late.”

Crenshaw Blasts Biden’s National Security Adviser

Crenshaw blasted Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan, who said on Sunday that the U.S. has provided “on time and in full everything Ukraine needs.” “I don’t know what kind of advice Jake Sullivan gives Joe Biden. I don’t really respect Jake Sullivan as a general national security mind either,” Crenshaw said. “They have not given Ukraine what they’ve needed on time and in the quantity that they’ve needed.”

Republicans Push for What is Right

Crenshaw cited the fallout from the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal as one example and said Republicans can only “push for what is right and at least cheer them on when they’re doing the right thing.” “We can end this much sooner than a lot of people realize,” Crenshaw said of the war in Ukraine.
