Tragedy struck on a bustling street in northern China on Wednesday night, as an explosion ripped through a popular barbecue restaurant. The incident, caused by a leak in a liquified gas tank, resulted in the loss of at least 31 lives, leaving seven others injured.

The restaurant, located in Yinchuan, the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, was a hub of activity on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. As people gathered to celebrate and indulge in rice dumplings, disaster struck, shattering the festive atmosphere.

Injuries and Urgent Treatment

Among the injured, seven individuals were rushed to medical facilities for treatment. Suffering from burns and cuts caused by broken glass, one person remains in critical condition. The entire community is praying for their swift recovery.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has responded swiftly to the tragedy, ordering comprehensive safety checks and urging authorities to prioritize the treatment of the wounded. Recognizing the need for stronger safety supervision in key industries and sectors, President Xi is determined to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

With a population of approximately 1,902,000 people, Yinchuan mourns the loss of its residents and stands united in the face of this devastating event.
