Bill Barr: Democrats Trying To Make Trump GOP Nominee By Prosecuting Him Because They Believe They Can Beat Him In General

In an interview with Larry Kudlow, former Trump Attorney General, William Barr, stated that the indictment against Donald Trump was an “abuse of prosecutorial power” and that it would not have been brought against anyone else. Barr went on to say that Democrats are trying to make Trump the Republican Party’s nominee again in 2024 because they perceive him as the easiest candidate to defeat. He called the case against Trump a “shameful episode in our history” intended to impact the political process.

Barr noted that he doesn’t believe the case is legitimate because prosecutors have to prove not only that records were falsified but also that there was an intent to defraud. The case against Trump is considered “pathetically weak.” While Kudlow suggested that Democrats were driving Trump from the political scene because they are afraid of him, Barr believes that they actually want to run against him because they believe they can win.

Despite attempting to generate the support of Trump’s base, Barr thinks the Democrats are playing for a repeat of the 2020 election.
