President Joe Biden stumbled and fell on stage during the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado. The incident was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media. While falls are not uncommon, the fact that the President is 80 years old and has announced plans to run for re-election has raised concerns about his health and ability to serve.

President Biden later joked with reporters, saying, “I got sandbagged!” when asked about his fall. The White House communications director also confirmed that the President was fine and that a sandbag on stage caused the fall.

However, the incident has sparked a debate about the President’s fitness for office. Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley expressed concern about the incident, saying, “Our enemies see the same TV clips and wonder who is in charge.” Columnist Rich Lowry also wrote in an Op-Ed in the New York Post that the incident highlights the issue of the President’s age and ability to serve.

Despite the concerns raised by his fall, there may be no good alternative to Biden for Democrats. But the fact remains that having to hold your breath every time he climbs or descends the steps of Air Force One is a big problem.
