The governor of Florida has announced plans to start distributing coronavirus vaccines to a broader number of people.

During a press conference Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis said vaccines will be available at select Publix Pharmacy locations throughout the Sunshine State.

The vaccines will be available by appointment at Publix locations in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. He said those will act as “pilot counties” before the vaccines will be distributed to a broader number of stores.

Publix Vice President Dain Rusk said he hopes to vaccinate about 120 people per day. Appointments will be held in participating locations starting on Thursday.
