Robert Kennedy Jr., Biden’s 2024 opponent, claims he won’t campaign in Iowa or New Hampshire.

Robert Kennedy Jr. Predicts Biden Will Skip Iowa and New Hampshire Primaries

“I think that President Biden is not going to even put his name in Iowa and New Hampshire. So I think he’s not even going to compete,” Kennedy told Michael Smerconish on SiriusXM.

Robert Kennedy Jr., a Democratic challenger to President Joe Biden, has made a bold prediction that the president will not compete in the Iowa or New Hampshire primaries. Kennedy believes that Biden will wait for a safer primary, such as in South Carolina, where he secured the nomination in 2020.

Kennedy explained to Smerconish that Biden has never done well in New Hampshire, finishing fifth in the last primary, and would prefer to go to a state where the results can be more easily controlled. Despite this, Kennedy plans to run in both New Hampshire and Iowa, as he sees his path to victory through the primaries.

The Shake-Up of the 2024 Democratic Primary Season

The 2024 Democratic primary season has already seen significant changes, with the president and the Democratic National Committee shaking up the usual order. New Hampshire, which is normally the first state to host both primaries, was moved down to a joint second slot with Nevada, while South Carolina, where Biden finished first, was moved to the first slot. Iowa was moved out of the first round of primaries.

Despite these changes, New Hampshire has held fast to its claim of being first in both primaries, partly due to a state law dating back to the 1970s. The Republican primary is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2024, but no date has been set for the New Hampshire Democratic primary. The presidential election will be held on Nov. 5, 2024.
