Christopher Lloyd Goes Viral with “Back to the Future” Tweet

Christopher Lloyd, known for his role as Emmett “Doc” Brown in the iconic sci-fi movie “Back to the Future,” caused a stir on social media with a tweet showing him sitting in a DeLorean at the Motor City Comic Con in Michigan. The 84-year-old actor simply tweeted, “Roads … or perhaps tunnels? @elonmusk,” referencing Elon Musk’s proposal to build a network of tunnels to alleviate traffic in busy cities. The tweet has since gone viral, with over 16.4 million views and counting.

Motor City Comic Con Responds

The Motor City Comic Con also tweeted about Lloyd’s appearance at the event, saying, “It was an honor to host #DocBrown himself #ChristopherLloyd at #MotorCityComicCon this past weekend. We look forward to seeing you all again this fall at Motor City Comic Con 2023 – Fall Edition happening November 10-12. #BacktotheFuture #OhioTimeMachineRental.”

Lloyd Talks “Back to the Future” Sequel

During a panel discussion at the event, Lloyd spoke about his experience playing Doc Brown in the “Back to the Future” franchise alongside Michael J. Fox’s character Marty McFly. He also recently spoke to Variety magazine about the possibility of a fourth movie in the franchise, saying, “I would love to do a sequel, but I think Bob Zemeckis and [producer Steven] Spielberg felt that they told the story in the three episodes. But if somebody has a brilliant idea that would justify a fourth film it might happen.” Lloyd also spoke about his on-screen chemistry with Fox, saying, “There was a certain ease between us. I didn’t have to struggle to get there with Michael. There was never any conflict. It just fit. And it’s never stopped. I feel like we could go and do it again after all these years and not have to think about the relationship between Marty and Doc.”
