Arnie: Heaven is a fantasy, don’t believe anyone who says otherwise.

Arnold Schwarzenegger on Heaven and Death

Actor and former California Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently spoke candidly about his thoughts on heaven and death in an interview with Interview magazine.

“It reminds me of Howard Stern’s question to me. ‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?’ I said, ‘Nothing. You’re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f***ing liar,’” Schwarzenegger said.

He went on to explain that while he doesn’t know what happens to the soul after death, he believes that the body as we know it will never be seen again. Schwarzenegger also expressed his discomfort with the idea of death and losing loved ones.

“When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone. That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t.”

Instead, Schwarzenegger chooses to remember his loved ones in a special way.

“To me, heaven is where I put a person who I love dearly, who is kind, who is generous, who made a difference in my life and other people’s lives,” he told the publication. “I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you have of all of your friends. And you always have a good feeling when you think of them.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger on His Infidelity

In the same interview, Schwarzenegger also opened up about his extramarital affair and how he told his wife, Maria Shriver, about it.

The actor said his “heart stopped” when Shriver said she wanted him to confess to the affair during a couple’s therapy session. The actor said his wife was “crushed” when he admitted to cheating on her with their housekeeper Mildred Baena and fathering a son with her.

Schwarzenegger expressed regret for the pain he caused his family and acknowledged that everyone had to suffer because of his mistake.
