Appeals court halts reinstatement of Seattle prosecutor fired by Trump

A federal appeals court temporarily blocked the reinstatement of Roger Rogoff as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington, halting a lower court ruling that had previously allowed his return after President Donald Trump’s decision to fire him. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals approved the Justice Department’s request for a stay, meaning Rogoff remains off the position while the court reviews whether to suspend his reinstatement during the ongoing appeal.
