Amazon Investigating After Footage of Delivery Driver Refusing to Take ‘Extra Two Steps’ Goes Viral
A video captured by a doorbell camera shows a delivery driver tossing a package onto a Florida porch, raising concerns about delivery standards. The footage, shared widely on social media, depicts the driver throwing the package from several feet away, resulting in damage to the box.The incident has garnered over 1.8 million views on X (formerly Twitter). The homeowner confirmed the package was delivered by Yun Express, an Amazon contractor, and commented on the carelessness of the delivery. Amazon responded by stating the incident does not meet their standards and is under inquiry. Similar complaints about mishandled deliveries, including packages delivered empty or stolen, have been reported, highlighting ongoing issues with third-party delivery services. As of 2024, about 85 million parcels are damaged annually, emphasizing the widespread nature of such problems.
Amazon, however, has taken a dim view of the driver’s ability to hurl a package onto the concrete porch of a Florida house from several feet away, where the package bounced end-over-end until it came to rest.
Ring doorbell footage since posted to X has been viewed more than 1.8 million times.
Footage showed the woman stopping several feet short of the porch and tossing the package into the air.

But even when treating a customer’s package with disdain, it is important to remember protocol.
The driver could be seen taking the required picture of the package before sauntering away.
Nathan Pekas, who d the video of the delivery to his Florida home, said the delivery was made by Yun Express, with which Amazon contracts, according to the New York Post.
The damaged box had one corner thoroughly smashed.
His comment on the incident was that it “must have been too much to make those extra two steps to the door.”
Amazon was not amused.
“This video does not reflect the standards we have for our delivery partners, and we’re looking into this matter,” it said in a statement.
Posts responding to the video on X noted that the Florida incident was not an isolated one.
“My favorite is the packages that have been delivered fully open and empty. I confronted one driver/delivery guy as he handed me the empty package. He said “Not my problem, wasn’t me” I asked him why he would even accept an empty package from the [Amazon] warehouse then. All rather sudden he didn’t speak englush,” a post from Tiny Tot Collection read.
“She had one simple job and failed at it, miserably. No integrity and just plain lazy. Some people are just unhirable. She should be fired, immediately!” TheAptCatalyst wrote.
“We just had a third-party Amazon delivery person steal the item from the envelope. My wife saw him coming and opened the door. He panicked and instead of talking a picture of the empty package in the porch, he handed her the empty envelope and then fled,” Roy Nathanson wrote.
The New York Post noted that as of 2024, about 85 million parcels a year are damaged.
