The success of “Sound of Freedom” is evident as the film has earned an impressive $155,000,017 to date, according to Box Office Mojo.
Brandon Purdie, head of Theatrical Distribution at Angel Studios, expressed his excitement about the film’s performance. “Throughout our fourth weekend, audiences have continued to show up and support SOUND OF FREEDOM, and our theatrical partners have given us ample real estate to meet that continued demand,” he shared in a press release. He also estimated that the movie would surpass the $150 million mark and confidently stated, “We’re strongly positioned to go well past that.”
Notably, “Sound of Freedom” has outperformed other highly-anticipated films such as “Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One” and ”The Flash” at the domestic box office. The seventh “Mission: Impossible” film has earned $143,350,787, while the DC superhero film ”The Flash” has brought in $107,975,616.
In this gripping true story, Caviezel portrays Tim Ballard, a federal agent who courageously quits his job to embark on a dangerous mission to rescue a young girl from sex slavery in South America.
The success of ”Sound of Freedom” has prompted the studio to announce a global release, with the film appearing in theaters in South Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Latin American countries, the U.K., and Ireland between August and October.
